Legal Question in Traffic Law in New York

Speeding ticket

Recieved speeding ticket for going 55 in a 40mph zone. Highway was marked 55mph then changed to 40mph with just a small sign I didn't see. With that big of drop in a tourist area more or bigger signs would help out of towner tourists. I'm sure many tourists have fallen for the same area and been caught. If I had known it was 40mph I would have been going 40.I have a good long driving record and don't know whether to fight it on fairness grounds or just pay the ticket and move on. I hate to plea to it and tarnish my driving record but to fight it would reguire time away from work and home. It was in Alexandria Bay NY and I live in Ohio. Should I pay and move on or fight on principle? Thanks

Re: Speeding ticket

If you don't fight it, you will be found guilty which would mean points on your license, and an upgrade on your premiums for car insurance over a period of years.

If you retain our office, we can appear for you, and handle everything through the mail. We may be able to reduce it significantly.

The cost would be $500.00 plus whatever the fine would be. Your appearance would not be necessary under normal circumstancts.

If you would like to discuss this further, please feel free to contact me.
