Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New York

My Mother passed away almost a year ago. My oldest siblings were appointed executors. After Moms death we were told everything was left in a trust to be split four ways equally. It has been 11 months and we have not heard anything from them regarding any of this. Contacted Moms lawyer, who said they haven't even contacted him. Moms house is rented and I would assume we are responsible to pay tax on any income over bills incurred although we have yet to hear anything about that either. How long do we wait and can they do anything underhanded while we wait.

You should retain your own attorney to investigate the status of the estate proceeding.

You need to get an accounting from the trustees. If necessary, retain an attorney.
