My mother died on 4/24/07 and she was a resident of N.Y.S. What is the appropriate time period between death and the execution of the will?

I suspect you are inquiring as to when the will may be probated. The answer is as soon as you wish.

The probate application must be filed by the Executor in the county Surrogate's Court where your mother resided at her death.
