Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Zealand (Aotearoa)

In my mums will, she left all her land interests to my step dad upon his death or remaariage. What does remmariage mean? A marriage of law or a relationship with another woman?

If the Will has been expressed with the word "remarriage" then this would usually be interpreted to mean an actual marriage rather than a de facto relationship. However, if it ever came to a contest it is possible that it could be extended to mean a long-term de facto relationship (usually more than 3 years).
