mental competency

if someone is declared mentally incompetent to stand trial, are they considered legally incompetent to sign legal documents, i.e. power of attorney, wills, mortgages or loans?

there is a difference...its not a sure thing, but the legal finding for court certainly effects any other decisionmaking of the individual...it would depend upon the findings of the mental health experts and the basis for his incapacity to proceed to trial
