Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina

Here is my challenge!

I go married in 1990 to my HS sweetheart. After my departure from the military we began the divorce proceedings in NY. Where we both lived at the time. We where married by that time for 2 years. Yet never filed taxes together or had any domiscile together because we eloped and she did not tell her parents.

When we started the proceedings in 1992 I was served with the papers and signed them. I come to find out now since I am trying to order a copy of the certificate for other issues, that she never completed the process.

She has since remarried and so have I. WHAT DO/CAN I Do?? Does this invalidate our new marriages?

If you got remarried without being divorced from her then you are committing bigamy. I think that is a felony. And your second marriage is null and void. So you need to get a lawyer to get some advice before you go to prison.
