Legal Question in Family Law in North Carolina

changing last name

can my ex-wife who is now remarried, change my daughters last name without consulting me? Yes, she has custody and I have visitation and pay child suppot. Do not know if I can accept the 12 year old just casting away her birthright name?

No, you must be notified as part of the court filing for the name change and be given an opportunity to contest it.
