Legal Question in Civil Litigation in North Carolina

Videotaping in public places

What's the law regarding shotting video in public places, such as neighborhoods? If I'm walking on the street and I film houses that I like, or cars parked in driveways, but just for me, not for any commercial purposes, is that legal? I know probably filming through the window inside somebody's house might be invasion of privacy, but if I'm just shooting a general view of a house, that's legal, right?

Re: Videotaping in public places

As your question is framed, that sort of videotaping should be legal. It would generally be legal to make an audio or video recording of things in public view.
