Legal Question in Personal Injury in North Carolina

Hello. My name is Marquese. I was involved in a car accident on July 14, 2010. After the police arrived, the driver was declared fully in fault for the accident. I just settled with them on July 30, 2010 for the damages of the vehicle only and have not received the check as of yet. Also, in the car was my wife and four small children under the age of 7. What I would like to know is are they entitled to any damages after I have settled for the damages to the vehicle since I am unsure of any future health issues for the children?

Your wife and children are able to have separate claims based on their damages. You should take them to the hospital for a check up just to be sure there are no major damages. As long as your settlement did not involve them, you they are able to bring a separate claim to the insurance company.
