Add Name to Account w/o Notifying POA

My Dad has Power of Attorney over my Grandfather for the past 5 years. Recently my Aunt has added her name to my Grandfather's account and has also gotten a debit card in my Grandfather's name. Can the bank do this without the approval of the Power of Attorney?

A power of attorney doesn't by itself mean that your grandfather is incompetent. If your grandfather added your aunt to his account, the bank can do that. If your grandfather is not competent, you may have to bring a proceeding to have him declared incompetent and have a guardian appointed. I suppose your father could attempt to use the power of attorney to remove your aunt from the account and cancel the debit card. He may want to consult with an attorney.
