Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in North Carolina

What options do grandparents have to protect their children and grandchildren when their children marry for a 2nd time?. How can they be protected so that the new spouse does not inherit their assets from an estate?

Short answer might be to make a will with a testamentary trust or have a revocable living trust set up. That way, the children or grandchildren will only have a right to receive income over their lifetimes and a spouse will not be able to claim this money. However, you need to consult and estate planning attorney to review your situation and devise the most suitable method for your situation.
