Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in North Carolina

trust

I am a trustee of a trust and have asked the attorney who wrote the trust what my compensation is for doing this is to no avail. I am also the executrix of the will is there two fees I am entittled to? I am not related , just a friend. The surviving wife lives with me and has dementia

If you are the Trustee then you should have a copy of the Trust. The first thing to do is to read the trust to try to find the answer to your question.

An Executor can get a commission. If the will does not stipulate what it should be, then it is in the Clerk's discretion. See guidelines in 28A-23-3. If you hire an attorney to help you with administering the estate, he or she can further advise you on this.
