Legal Question in DUI Law in North Dakota

I was recently arrested for my first DUI with a BAC if .173. This behavior is completely out of my character and won't happen again. Is there ever a chance that the judge could drop the charge. If not, is there anything I can do or say that will help me? (north dakota)

This won't be just "dropped." Unfortunately your character really does not play a roll in DUI's in ND, they handle them all the same.

You are currently facing approximately this:

a 91 day license suspension

500-650 dollar fine

Chemical Dependency evaluation and follow though with recommendations

Attend a Victim Impact Class

30 day in Jail all suspended (you don't actually serve)

Also you have a very limited amount of time to challenge your drivers license suspension, my guess is if you were in West Fargo you took a breath test at the Jail, therefore you only have 10 days from the arrest to challenge the Drivers License suspension.

The only way to really fight a DUI is to get a formal opinion for a lawyer and then decide to hire or not hire a lawyer.
