Legal Question in Civil Litigation in North Dakota

illegal privacy violation??

My landlord, after entering my place of employment proceded to loudly tell the manager on duty WHY he was looking for me and that he was going to have me evicted as of that day if they did not have me contact him immediately. Do I have a case to file suit against him for this?

It does not sound like you have much of a case. You would probably have to sue under a defamation claim, and then you would have to prove your money damages. What money did you lose because of this? It would have to be a considerable amount to convince a lawyer to take the case.

The flip side of the coin is that you have a right not to be harassed by your land lord. If the harassment becomes too great you can always make a report to the police. But be careful, if you owe the land lord money he has a right to collect rents from you.
