Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Ohio

Affect child custody?

Hi, I have sole custody (he just has visitation) of our 2--name removed--children. I'm considering filing CH 7 because the divorce is dragging on and he's holding out on helping me pay the unsecured loans to start my business (which was filed as an LLC, just me as the owner). Without getting into everything, I'm just wondering if child custody is affected by me filing bankruptcy. I was a stay at home mom for 5 years before this and am starting a business, but it does take time. He pays child support and alimony to cover my personal bills.

Re: Affect child custody?

I have representing many people who go through an divorce and this often leads them to file bankruptcy. They are not necessarily connected. Evaluate the need for bankruptcy independent of the considerations about the divorce.
