Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Ohio

Fitness center contract

In 1994 I signed a contract to join a health club and was unable to fufill the contract financially. I have now been subpoenaed to court in regard to this matter. Is there a statute of limitations and am I still obligated to pay the amount owed? I have not used the services of this club.
