Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Ohio

I have been served with a summons complaint as a result of non payment of a credit card debt of $15,000. I have no extra money to pay this debt. What can I do about the summons complaint?

In Ohio, you will have 28 days from the date that you were served with the summons and complaint to file an Answer. Perhaps there are portions of the bill that you dispute, or perhaps they credit card company is throwing in charges like attorneys fees for which they cannot charge.

If there is no defense to the claim, and if you have no money, you might consider speaking with a bankruptcy attorney about getting the debt discharged. If you are in the central Ohio area, you might want to call Nobile & Thompson at 614.529.8600.
