Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

Anonymous calls to 911 Laws and Curfew Laws

Hi, sorry about selection of what the law is about I think it is the right one, I'm not too good with laws. I'm a 15 year old male from Ohio, and I have witnessed a crime but due to fear of the person acting in revenge I want to keep it anonymous, for instance call 911 and report it. So I want to know if it's legal to do that and the laws. My other question is about the curfew laws, for Bowling Green, Ohio my friend lives there and recently we got picked up by cops, I asked officers about curfew and they said that there wasn't one in Bowling Green, also the Officers searched our clothes without permission.

Re: Anonymous calls to 911 Laws and Curfew Laws

If you report the crime to 911, they may not necessarily ask for your name. Also, there might be a crimestoppers telephone number in your area. If there is, I bet that if you call it, you can report the crime and remain anonymous.

Generally, police may not search a person unless they have a reasonable suspicion that the person searched is involved in criminal activity. However, if you were picked up for a curfew violation, I would imagine that you were searched for weapons. Under some circumstances, police may search people for safety reasons.
