Legal Question in Criminal Law in Ohio

Expungement (DUI along w/ others)

Charged w/ theft/assault/DUI all at one time (1998) in a incident involving an ex-boyfriend stealing beer and potato chips from a bar one night. I know it sounds ridiculous b/c it is. I got the theft (b/c I was with him), the assault (b/c the bar owner gave a police report stating I attempted to run her over w/ my car. BTW, another ex-boyfriend happened to work at the bar, thus even more reasons for the false police report) and the DUI (well, b/c we were stopped b/c of the incident).

I work in the financial industry and was recently terminated due to FDIC regulations and these charges appearing on my criminal record. I've contacted a lawyer to attempt to get the charges (theft/assualt) expunged. Having difficulty with the court due to DUI charge. Are there any suggestions anyone can help with? Case Law? I have no other charges/convictions, etc. on my record. My employer will reinstate me once I provide documentation that the charges have been expunged. I recently joined this instituion, having accepted an $8,000 increase from my former place of employment and do not want to lose this job.

Thanks.

Re: Expungement (DUI along w/ others)

DUI (and other driving-related) convictions are (almost) impossible to get expunged. It sounds like your lawyer is giving you the straight dope.
