Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Ohio

Age Discrimination?

Is it legal for a car rental company to REQUIRE that someone be 25 years of age to rent a vehicle (mini van). I am a young professional going on a business trip at the end of August and I can not rent a mini van for me and my associates because of my age. Please advise

Re: Age Discrimination?

Generally, thus far, it is legal as persons under the age of 40 are not in an age-protected class. However, at least one state (not Ohio) has a statute that specifically prohibits rental companies from refusing to rent to those under 25 solely on the basis of age, but I am aware of no others.
