changing childs last name
can the father of my child legaly change my sons last name to his last name even tho we will never marry and my son has my (mothers) last name on his bith certificate,and i would never consent to my sons name being different from mine.

He can file a motion for change of name in the probate court, but you are entitled to notice of the hearing, and the opportunity to say why the change of name would not be in the best interests of the child.
