Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

I live in Pickaway County, Ohio. My soon-to-be ex-wife and I bought a house with a joint mortgage a year before we got married. Is this debt considered to be a "marital" debt?

In Ohio, any debts incurred before the marriage are not "marital" debts. However, if you both signed off on the mortgage before you got married, then the debt is already a joint debt and you will both be jointly responsible for it.
