Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Is marriage legal?

My ''husband'' was legally seperated from his ''ex'' and had gone through his divorce but he never got his final divorce papers until October. We were married in March of that same year (before he got the final decree) Now there are problems and I want to know, are we legally married or not? Do we need to go through a legal divorce or were we actually married in the first place?

Re: Is marriage legal?

You have to look to the times stamp on the final decree. I does not matter when your receive the decree, the relevant issue is when the Court signed the decree and it was filed by with the clerk of courts. If it was filed after you got maried, then your marriage is void.

Good luck!!!!!!!!!
