Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Ohio

money as a gift

I am wondering if you talk to a friend about some personal problems and this friend takes it on him or herself to go get a loan. And help you out even though you tell them you can't pay it back and they still say thats ok. I'am just helping you out. Are you still liable to pay the money back. Even though you never signed and there was no witnesses?

Re: money as a gift

based on what you said it sounds like a gift to me and ne legal obligation to pay to back. That does not eliminate the moral obligation to pay it back.
