Re: Labor Law

In Ohio, which is not a right to work state, it depends on your job classification and the collective bargaining agreement. Employees performing certain types of work (e.g., agricultural workers, supervisors, some clerical workers) cannot be compelled to join a union. Additionally, no employee can be compelled to join a union unless the collective bargaining agreement (the labor agreement between the employer and the union) requires employees to join or pay union dues.

You can visit the websites of the National Labor Relations Board (www.nlrb.gov) or the National Right To Work Foundation (www.nrtw.org) for additional information.

Re: Labor Law

Normally this is decided by election. There is a thin line between required and mandatory.
