Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Ohio

Leasing Law

My lease is up and I only want to stay another 2 months tops. I am planning on giving a 30 day notice, however, my landlord is trying to force me into signing another lease for 3 months...and RAISE my rent another $50 a month. Am I legally bound that I HAVE to sign and Pay ?

Re: Leasing Law

If your lease has a definite ending date, you have no right to stay beyond that date without a further agreement with the landlord. The landlord can raise the rent. You do not need to give any notice unless the lease will automatically renew if you do not give notice of your intent to leave.
