Death and Legal Heirs

If there is no will and my father would pass away, who would be entitled to anything he has? There is myself, his only daughter, his sister in law (my brother passed away 4 years ago), 4 grandchildren and his girlfriend, who he has lived with for 20 years. He does not have a will at this time but I think it's important he get one, he owns several properties.

One half of your father's probate assets would pass to you, the other half to your brother's children.
