Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

foster child

Does a foster child that have never been legally adopted have a right to an estate? I have no other heirs, but a foster child my father took in through child services. She is an adult now, and my father is in ill health. He always treated her like she was his biological child. would she have any rights to his estate? If so, what should I do about it?

Re: foster child

She would not be considered a legal heir. To secure an inheritance for her, she should be named in a will or trust.
