Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in Ohio

Reading of a Will

A friend of mine, his father passed away about 3 months ago and he is still waiting for the reading of the will. His stepmother refuses to give him the objects that his father had promised him while he was on his deathbed and refuses to let him look over his fathers belongings. Is there any legal action my friend can take to read his fathers will or obtain his fathers belongings?

Re: Reading of a Will

The Will is available to anyone from the public to read once it is filed with the court to be administered. At that time, he can write a letter to the court regarding the withholding of any gifts. If there is a 'reading' then he can contact the attorney who would handle the reading.
