Legal Question in Bankruptcy in Oklahoma

What can I exempt?

I am filing Chapter 7 and have 2 secured loans. I also have a dentist bill that is not on my credit report and would like to finish paying that off. What do I do about that- do I list it and try to get it exempt or will my bankruptcy be dismissed?

You can list and reaffirm any debts that you wish to pay off.

Re: What can I exempt?

I think you are mixing up terms. You exempt things that you don't want liquidated by the Trustee. If you want to pay the dental bill, the thing to do is list it and then reaffirm the debt. It is never a good idea to omit items as that can give rise to fraud and or substantial abuse charges and possible loss of your discharge (or even criminal liability). List it and then reaffirm it. Good luck. Let me know if I can be of further assistance.
