Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Oklahoma

Access to new homeowner information

We're a small business marketing a service to new homeowners.

How do we gain access to new Warranty Deeds filed at each County Seat when properties are sold and bought, which will give us contact information for the new property owners?

We know this information is in the public domain, but we don't know who to talk to or what to ask for.

Thanks.

Re: Access to new homeowner information

Information for each county is kept at the County Clerk's office and is recorded by Grantor (Seller) Grantee (Buyer) index and by property description. If your question is how to obtain this information from every county I think you would need to talk with each county clerk's office as I am unaware of any requirement that the buy/sales have to be kept in a recorded form that would be convenient to you or for your purposes. If you are wondering about tax sales, tax certificates and a listing of which properties by name and description can probably be obtained from either the County Assessor or County Treasurer. If you have a question about a particular person buying, selling or owning property you should check the Grantor/Grantee Index. The Assessor and Treasurers office keeps addresses for property owners for tax purposes. Another method might be find out the names of the county "legal news" newspapers which often report on all filings in the county clerk and court.
