home owners association

I belong to a small home owners association. many of us feel that the dues are not being spent properly and there is some shady things going on internally. how can i get a copy of past 2 years bank statements and all reciepts?

You asked about getting a proper accounting of homeowner association books.

You need to look at the bylaws and see what options you have. Bylaws must provide some manner of oversight. Sometimes that is by a required audit, other times it may be by a demanded audit (which the requestor must pay for). In most cases the members of the HA should have the right to access and review the books in the HA office.

This is something that you should bring to an attorney. An attorney can handle the investigation at arms length and avoid the personality issues that naturally crop up in such matters.
