Is it a criminal offense to write a bad check?

It is a criminal offense. However, a ten day written notice must be given to the party that wrote the bad check to honor the payment. If a party fails to make good on the check during that ten day period, only then may a criminal charge may be brought. Gerald Hershenson Esq. 215-579-9390
