Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

collection of unpaid tuition

I discovered that I owed a few thousand dollars of unpaid tuition that prevents me from obtaining a transcript. I graduated from the school more than 25 years ago. Does the statute of limiation apply? There were no efforts for collection during that time.

Re: collection of unpaid tuition

This is an interesting question. The school is long past the statute of limitations for collection. I guess the question is whether the school retains a lien on the transcript. My best guess is that it does not and that you are entitled to the transcript as an educational record. This would take some research. If there is a statute covering the specific situation it might just take a letter to the school to get it.
