father passing

My father passed away in 1995 and he had a credit card with my as a user. I tried to pay it for some time but then could not. I did send a copy of this death cirtificate but the dept is now in mt name and come to find out there is a judgment against me. The bank can not provide me a copy of the application. What should I do next?
