liability of surviving spouse

am i liable for credit card debt of deceased spouse if card was only in the deceased name?

assuming the debt or card was just in your wife's name you would not be responsible. Her estate would be responsible meaning any assets she had when she died in her name alone or as tenants in common.

No, but the estate, if one is opened, would be responsible.
