This should never occur. Why are you making payments on a car that is not registered in your name? Are you or whoever's name is on the car engaged in fraud? How is the car insured? Are you listed as a driver on the car?

Assuming that this is all legitimate, what type of compensation are you seeking? If you drove the car and foolishly paid without getting title or a bill of sale, and if you are referring to reimbursement of what you paid, my question is why? If you drove the car then you would be obliged to pay for it, just as if you rented a vehicle.

If you are talking about compensation for an auto accident whereby you were injured and the other driver was 50% or more at fault, then yes, you would be entitled to compensation for your injuries. In such case, talk to a personal injury lawyer.

You need to re-post with more facts.
