Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Pennsylvania

Being sued by creditors

My boyfriend is being sued by a credit card company. He owes now with attorney fees and every other fee the added on $4500 plus. He is summoned to court in the next week or so. He had sought advice from a consumer credit debit relief company, which weren't of much help. Then they told him of the free legal help since he does not have hardly any money and lives paycheck to paycheck. The neighborhood legal service told him to ask for a reduce in the debit and that was it. How should he defend himself in this matter? Is there anything he can do since the money he was willing to pay them before hand ($100 a month, what he can afford max.) and they refused payments. People have told him they can take his car, which he paid for in cash, is this true? Thank you for any help!

Re: Being sued by creditors

The creditors have to prove certain evidence. He has to show up at a minimum to make them do that. Do they have his signature on a contract? It might make sense to hire a lawyer for the hearing if possible ( A few hundred dollars could save hime thousands. Yes they can execute on a vehcile he paid cash for. io ffer free consultations.
