Legal Question in Criminal Law in Pennsylvania

Product not delivered

My wife ordered a custom door for our new home over the internet from a company in North Carolina. She sent them a $1,000 check for a deposit and was told we would receive delivery in 2-3 weeks. She and I have both attempted to contact them numerous times by telephone and email but they will not return our inquiries about the status of our order. The check was cashed so we cannot stop payment on it. Since we are so far away, we do not know what to do about this. We have been attempting to contact them for alomost 3 weeks.

My question is: What recourse do we have and can we file a criminal complaint against this person?

Re: Product not delivered

You have two options, both can be pursued at your earliest convenience. The first is a Civil suit against the company in question, the other includes possible criminal charges. However, your primary concern is getting your new door, therefore my recommendation is to retain an attorney to resolve this situation for you as soon as possible.

My office also offers flat rate pricing and free consultations, for additional information please visit my firm's website at www.AlleghenyAttorneys.com or by calling my office at 412.731.0865.

You can contact the district attorney's office in the County where the seller was located.
