Legal Question in Discrimination Law in Pennsylvania

work and my hair

My job has just added a work place policy stating that all males have to have there hair above their bottom collar. it also states nothing can aid you in conforming to this rule such as rubber bands, ties, etc. My question is i have worked for this company for 5 years and have had long hair before being hired. If i'm threatened with some sort of action since i won't cut my hair, can i do anything about that?

No. There is no cause of action for hair discrimination, as far as I've heard.

Let that freak flag fly! Sorry about that. A reference to a Crosby lyric (and I Don't mean Bing), probably long before your time.

Why only males? Seems to me that if they are going to let females use hair nets and scrunchies, etc. it's time to get out the protest signs and march.

Seriously, is it worth a job? Especially one that you've worked at for five years and especially if you're on good terms with your employer.
