child support

my husband and his ex have 5 children,my husband and i raised 3 of them,,i quit my job to take care of his 3 and my 2,never no support from ex wife,,we just had the 4th child for almost 3 years,he moved back with his mom,now she wants support,,i know she is entitled,,but what about my rights,,i gave up a career to stay at home with all these kids.the 3 i raised are now out on thier own,,,please help,,,i heard about indirect child support,,,what is that?

Indirect child support as you are describing it probably refers to the rule that while a spouse's income is not considered when calculating support under the guidelines it can be used to argue that an order above or below guidelines is appropriate. The other possibility would be when parents share custodial rights. In a 50-50 situation neither parent owes aupport to the other. In a situation of 70-30 the parent with 30% custody would owe support but because they are providing food and shelter for 30% of the time they would be entitled to a credit for that.
