Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

Child's right to choose a parent

My wife & I are divorcing. Our children, ages 14 and 15 chosen to life with me versus their mother. Are they old enough to make this decision or can their mother contest this?

Well at that age many judges will give some weight to the desires of the child. How much is up to the judge. A lot depends on if the judge thinks the kids are credible.

Once a custody order has been made it is rather hard to change. Courts do not like to rearrange the children absent some drastic changes in circumstances. Further given children's ages. By the time any action to change custody would be considered they be very close to emancipation.
