Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

In my husband's divorce he agreed to pay alimony to his ex-wife up to the day she dies, not him. Am I responsible for paying the alimony once my husband is dead?

You asked whether you would need to pay alimony to your husband's ex-wife if he should pre-decease her.

No. When he dies the agreement ends. The alimony payments are over and you would take the appropriate estate according to the will and any other instruments. Should would have no claim against the estate unless otherwise provided by contract.

Regards,

Roger
