Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

am i obligated?

i am hesitant in regards to marrying my fiance because he has three children 4 -7 years of age--name removed--his exwife has a court order stating that she does not have to work until the youngest is 7 and that he pays 100% of the children's private school tuition and their medical costs--name removed--my fiance's family name is well known in their world-wide business even though my fiance does not reap any of the financial benefits of having such a name--name removed--he can barely afford paying all of these obligations--name removed--i am practically supporting my own family and him because all of his income is deducted per the court order--name removed--my question is will my assets and/or my income be able to be included in this order even though they are and always will be separate from his when we get married? i would not put it past her to try to attach my assets/income to a court order in attempts to get more support--name removed--this issue has been ongoing for 4 years now and it has been the sole cause of my hesitation--name removed--thank you

Re: am i obligated?

Your income should not be a factor nor should your assets in determining his obligations.

However, the fact that his exwife is not required to provide some support is not the usual situation. More facts are needed.

Good luck to you.
