Legal Question in Family Law in Pennsylvania

my parental right to my son and his education

I have a 16 year old son to a man that I never married. I no longer live with this man, and there is nothing legal between us as far as custody, or child support, although I have to say that he has never given me a dime for this child. Anyway, the reason I am writing is because recently I have had trouble getting my child to go to school. Sometimes I have to be at work before he goes to school, and later I found out that he wasn't going. When I told his dad that I was having trouble getting our son to go to school, he told me that it was pretty much my problem because I wouldn't allow for him to beat our child or send him away. So taking matters into my own hands I told the school that I would have my son taught at home by me. They agreed. Now his dad has found out and doesn't agree. He is now telling me that he is going to go to a magistrate and see if our son can be sent somewhere where they make you get up and go to school and he says that it will be out of my hands and I will have no say if the magistrate agrees. Please tell me what I can expect if he goes to a magistrate. Thank you, any response will be appreciated.

You need to file a complaint for custody. You have every right to home school your child. I recommend speaking with an attorney. I offer free consultations.
