Legal Question in Civil Litigation in Pennsylvania

Rights for Family sueing Family

#years ago I helped my brother-in-law build a deck on a house he was living that was own by his mother-in-law. They wanted the cheapest price for the job, I work for a contractor and said I would do it with the help of my brother-in-law. After it was done he had a agruement with my wife and 30 day after we were asked to appear before a Dist. Mas...I had to paid them over 1350.00 because of I charged them more for the extra 6 hrs me and my wife had into the prep work. At the hearing they were asked if they wanted me to fix anything that was wrong and they said ''NO'' they wanted their money. Now 3 years later after this was settled I received paper again sueing me again for the same thing and adding on a few other things..what is my rights as a person helping his family out..and getting sue by the same people

You may have the defense of Res Judicata. If the parties are the same the dispute is the same and final judgment was rendered you should have the defense available. I have a state wide practice and offer free consultations.
