Legal Question in Employment Law in Pennsylvania

Can you be terminated due to illness even with Doctors excuse?

I am a current temporary worker. Could my contract be terminated early due to recent absences even though I have proof of being in the emergency room and doctors visits?

Since you don't say you're in a union, I'll assume you're not. If you're not in a union, an employer can terminate you for any reason or no reason, so long as it isn't in violation of some anti-discrimination law. Is the medical reason for your absence a temporary problem or a permanent disability/handicap? If it's temporary, then you're not protected from being fired for missing work. I'll also assume you don't have an employee handbook that gives you certain rights to only be fired for cause.
