Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in Pennsylvania

rental increase

I live in Berks County, Pa. I am renting and have a 1 yr. lease. At the end of this lease the landlord wants to raise the rent 50%. Is that legal or is there a limit they can raise the rent?

Re: rental increase

No limit on increases at the end of the lease. Obviously he can't raise it during the lease period. If he gives you the notice as required in the lease, he can raise it to whatever he wants. It's then your choice whether to renew.
