Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Pennsylvania

I had a ct scan this week i asked the nurse if i could have a copy of my ct scan her answer was no i will fax the results to a surgeon .. my question is am i entitled to a copy of my ct scan report

Under Pennsylvania law, a competent adult patient is entitled to a copy of their medical records, which would include your cat scan report.The facility providing the records is entitled to charge reasonable copying fees. That does not mean that this nurse was wrong, rather, she may not be authorized to release it to you.

My experience has been that departments of radiology tend to cooperate with patient requests for study results. If this test was done in a hospital, I suggest you call the radiology file room. You will probably be able to get the result on showing a picture ID.
