Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in Pennsylvania

TPA use and acute stroke?

Do you know of any cases where physicians of hospitals were successfully sued for not treating with IV TPA when it was appropriate (ie patient arrived within 3 hr time window and there were no medical contraindications)?

Re: TPA use and acute stroke?

Your question suggests that someone was injured because they presented with a stroke and were not treated with TPA.

Whether TPA is the Standard of Care is a relatively new question in medicine and even more so in law. It would therefore be premature to try to judge your chances of a successful lawsuit by the success or failure of one or even a few cases.

This is an issue that should be discussed with an attorney NOW if you wish to pursue a lawsuit.
